About Universal Conversion Suite

Convert files from one format to another without uploading them. It handles photos (including iPhone HEIC, PSD and camera RAW previews), audio, video, PDFs, Word (.docx) and other documents, EPUB e-books, Excel and CSV spreadsheets, data files such as JSON and XML, and archives like ZIP, RAR and 7Z. Drop a file and the converter checks what it really is, suggests the best output and lets you set the quality, size, bitrate or pages. Extra tools compress images, videos, audio and PDFs to a target size, merge PDFs, and read text from scans in English or Hindi.

How to Use

1

Add files

Drop files onto the converter or browse, up to 50 at a time. It checks each file's contents to find its real format, not just the name.

2

Choose the output

Pick one of the suggested formats. Where it applies, choose a preset such as Web or Small file, or set the quality, size, bitrate, pages or trim yourself.

3

Convert and download

Each result is checked before it is offered. Download files one by one, or a whole batch as one ZIP.

Privacy & Processing

  • Mode: local
  • Files Leave Browser: Local tool processing; review details below
  • Max Input Size: Device memory limits
  • Account Required: No
  • Data Stored Locally: Recent conversions are listed in this browser by format, size and time, without file names or contents, and your last settings and saved presets are remembered. Converted files stay in this tab's memory for up to an hour and are never stored.
  • Network Processing: Assets or models may require an initial download

The Universal Conversion Suite processes all files locally in your browser. No files are uploaded to any server; FFmpeg, the OCR engine and its language data load from this site.

Rules & Limitations

  • Up to 50 files at a time. Per file: 1 GB for audio and video, 500 MB for archives, 200 MB for PDFs and 100 MB for images, documents and spreadsheets.
  • Older Word .doc files, PowerPoint files and OpenDocument text or slide files can't be converted here. PDF to Word keeps the text, not the images or exact layout.
  • PDFs made from Word, text, Markdown, HTML, e-book or spreadsheet files use a built-in font for Latin, Greek and Cyrillic letters, so Hindi and other scripts may be missing.
  • Long videos can take a while, especially on phones. Changing only the container, such as MKV to MP4, is fastest because compatible streams are copied without re-encoding.
  • Converted files stay in this tab for 60 minutes. Download them before then.

Top Suggestions

  • Turning iPhone HEIC photos into JPG
  • Saving the audio of a video as MP3, or converting videos to MP4
  • Shrinking a photo, video or PDF to fit an upload limit
  • Converting Excel sheets to CSV or PDF, and JSON to CSV
  • Opening RAR and 7Z archives or repacking them as ZIP

Universal Conversion Suite FAQ

How do I convert HEIC photos to JPG?

Drop your HEIC photos onto the converter, choose JPG and convert; PNG, WebP and AVIF work too. Download each photo or the whole batch as a ZIP. Only the main image is converted, not extra burst or depth images.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Every conversion runs in your browser, and the engines it uses, such as FFmpeg for audio and video and the OCR engine with its language data, load from this site rather than a third-party CDN. Your files are never stored.

How do I convert a video to MP3?

Drop the video and choose MP3 (or WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC or OGG). The first audio track is saved, and you can set the bitrate and trim the start and end first. Videos without a sound track can't be converted to audio.

Can I compress a photo or PDF to a specific size?

Yes. Open Image Compressor under Handy file tools and enter a target in KB, such as 50 KB for an online form; it lowers the quality, then the dimensions, until the photo fits. The PDF, video and audio compressors take a target in MB and warn you when the target is too small to reach.

Can it convert PDF to Word and Word to PDF?

Yes, with limits. PDF to Word gives an editable .docx with the text, paragraphs and page breaks but not the images or exact layout; for a scanned PDF, choose TXT instead, which reads the pages with OCR. Word (.docx) to PDF keeps text, headings, lists, tables and images, but complex layouts may differ and Hindi text may be missing, because the built-in font covers Latin, Greek and Cyrillic only.

Can it read text from scanned documents in Hindi?

Yes. Image to Text and OCR PDF recognise English, Hindi or both on your device, and OCR PDF turns a scan into a searchable PDF with selectable text; search the converter for OCR to find them. Accuracy depends on how sharp and straight the scan is, and handwriting is not supported.
