About AI Grammar Fixer

Check the grammar, spelling and punctuation of English emails, letters and essays with an AI model that runs in your browser. Every correction is shown as a change you can review: removed words are struck through and new words are underlined, and you can undo any change before you accept the rest. The prompt is tuned for common Indian English mistakes such as "since two days" and "discuss about".

Your text is checked in your browser and never uploaded. The LaMini-Flan-T5 model (about 265 MB) downloads once from huggingface.co; the AI engine (about 10 MB) is served by this site.

Rules & Limitations

  • English only. The first check downloads about 265 MB; later checks take a few seconds per paragraph.
  • Up to 1,500 words per check. Long text is checked in short pieces, so nothing is cut off.
  • Short lines in a letter, such as greetings, sign-offs and names, are kept as written.
  • It is a small model: it misses some errors and sometimes rewords a sentence. If an answer drifts from your text, that part is left as written.
  • It fixes grammar and spelling; it does not change the tone or check facts.

AI Grammar Fixer FAQ

How do I check grammar online for free?

Paste your text and select Check grammar. The corrections appear with removed words struck through and new words underlined. There is no sign-up and no daily limit, because the check runs on your own device.

Is my text sent to a server?

No. The AI model runs in your browser, so your text never leaves your device. Only the model itself is downloaded, once, from huggingface.co.

Why does the first check take so long?

The first check downloads the 265 MB AI model, which takes about two minutes on a 20 Mbps connection. It is then kept in your browser, so later checks start in a few seconds.

Can I accept only some of the corrections?

Yes. Select a change to undo it, and it goes back to your original words. Accept and Copy corrected then use only the changes you kept.

Does it understand Indian English?

It is told the text is Indian English and also fixes a few common constructions directly, for example "since two days" becomes "for the last two days" and "discuss about" becomes "discuss". It keeps Indian names, places and rupee amounts as they are.

What is the difference between this and a spell checker?

A spell checker flags words that are not in its dictionary. This tool also fixes grammar, such as "I has" to "I have", wrong tenses and missing articles, and shows each change for you to review.
