Meta Tag Generator FAQ
How do I add meta tags to my website?
Fill in the form, click Copy and paste the tags inside the <head> section of the page, before </head>. In WordPress, Wix or Shopify, use the SEO settings of the page or an SEO plugin instead, since they write these tags for you.
Why does WhatsApp not show my image when I share a link?
Usually the og:image is missing, is a relative path, is not public, or is too heavy. Use a full https:// address of a 1200 × 630 px JPEG or PNG and keep it under about 300 KB. WhatsApp also caches previews, so test with a new link or add ?v=2 to the URL.
What is the ideal length for a title and meta description?
Aim for about 50–60 characters for the title and 150–160 for the description. Google cuts by width, so wide letters fill the space sooner; the pixel counter shows when a title is likely to be cut.
What is the difference between meta tags and Open Graph tags?
The title and meta description are read by search engines like Google. Open Graph tags (og:title, og:image and so on) are read by WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn and X to build the preview card when someone shares the link.
Do I need separate Twitter (X) tags?
Mostly no. X reads og:title, og:description and og:image when its own tags are missing, so the tool adds only twitter:card and, if you enter one, twitter:site.
Is the HTML I paste uploaded anywhere?
No. Pasted HTML is read in your browser, and its scripts do not run. The only request the tool makes is to load the share image you enter, from the address you typed, so it can check its size.
