About Browser Screen & Camera Recorder

Record your screen, a window or a browser tab with your microphone and the computer's sound, and show your webcam as a round bubble in a corner. It saves an MP4 video (WebM in Firefox) with no watermark and no time limit, and nothing is uploaded. On phones and tablets, where browsers cannot record the screen, it records the camera instead.

How to Use

1

Choose what to record

Turn on Screen, Camera, Microphone and Tab or system audio as needed. With the screen and camera both on, pick a corner for the camera bubble.

2

Start recording

Click Start recording, choose the tab, window or screen in the browser's dialog and, in Chrome or Edge, tick Share audio. Allow the camera and microphone if asked.

3

Record, pause and stop

After the 3-2-1 countdown the timer and file size appear. Use Pause and Resume as needed, then click Stop or the browser's Stop sharing button.

4

Download

Watch the preview, then click Download. You can download it again until you click Discard or close the page.

Privacy & Processing

  • Mode: local
  • Files Leave Browser: Local tool processing; review details below
  • Max Input Size: Device memory limits
  • Account Required: No
  • Data Stored Locally: Nothing is saved in the browser. The recording stays in memory until you download it or close the page.
  • Network Processing: Assets or models may require an initial download

Your screen, camera and microphone are recorded in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Capture stops as soon as you stop recording or leave the page.

Rules & Limitations

  • Screen recording works in desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Android and iPhone browsers cannot record the screen, so only the camera is offered there.
  • Computer or tab sound is only available in Chrome and Edge, when you tick Share audio while choosing what to share. Firefox and Safari record the microphone only.
  • The video is kept in this tab's memory until you download it (about 20 MB a minute). For recordings over about 30 minutes, stop and save so the browser doesn't run out of memory.
  • With the camera bubble on, the video is drawn at up to 30 frames per second and at most 1920 pixels wide.
  • Closing or leaving the page stops the recording and discards anything not downloaded.

Browser Screen & Camera Recorder FAQ

Is there a watermark or a time limit?

No watermark and no time limit. The only limit is your device's memory, so save long recordings every 30 minutes or so.

Why is my recording missing the microphone?

Check that Microphone was on and that you allowed microphone access (camera icon in the address bar). If you share sound too, both are mixed into one track, so also check that the right microphone is the system default.

How do I record the sound from my computer or a YouTube tab?

Use Chrome or Edge, keep Tab or system audio on, and tick Share tab audio (or Share system audio for a whole screen on Windows) in the sharing dialog. Firefox and Safari do not share this sound.

Is my recording uploaded anywhere?

No. The video is recorded and kept in your browser, and goes only to your Downloads folder when you click Download.

Can I record my screen on a phone?

Not in a browser: Android and iPhone browsers do not allow screen capture. Use the phone's built-in screen recorder; this page can record your phone's camera.

What format is the video, and will it play on WhatsApp?

Chrome, Edge and Safari save MP4 (H.264), which plays on WhatsApp, phones and most editors. Firefox saves WebM; convert it to MP4 if an app does not accept it.
