Rules & Limitations

Age counts whole years, then whole months, then the days left over, so it is never negative.
If you were born on 29 February, in years without that date your birthday is counted on 28 February.
On your birthday the age goes up by one that same day.
Today's date comes from your device's clock and time zone.
Check the exact rule in an exam notice: some count the cut-off date itself differently.

How do I calculate my age as on a date for an exam?

Enter your date of birth, then put the cut-off date from the notification in "Age as on", for example 1 Aug 2026. The result is your age in completed years, months and days on that date, which is what age limits are checked against.

How is age calculated in years, months and days?

The calculator adds whole years to your date of birth, then whole months, and counts the days left. Someone born on 31 Jan 2000 is 26 years, 1 month and 1 day old on 1 Mar 2026.

How is a 29 February birthday handled?

In years without 29 February, the birthday is counted on 28 February, so the age goes up on that day and the countdown points to it. In leap years it is 29 February as usual.

How many days old am I?

The "Age in days" line shows the number of days from your date of birth to the chosen date. Weeks and months are shown too.

Is my date of birth stored or sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser, and your date of birth is not uploaded or saved.
