About Currency Converter

Convert an amount between more than 160 currencies, including US dollars, euros, pounds, UAE dirhams and Indian rupees, using daily reference rates from exchangerate-api.com. Search currencies by code or name, swap them with one click, and see a quick table of common amounts. Small results keep enough decimals to be useful (1 INR is about $0.0104), and amounts use Indian digit grouping.

How to Use

1

Type the amount

Enter the amount in the Amount box. Commas are fine, for example 1,50,000.

2

Choose the currencies

Pick From and To by typing a code or name, such as USD, dirham or rupee. The arrow button swaps them. The tool starts with US dollar to Indian rupee.

3

Read and copy the result

The converted amount updates as you type. Below it are the rates both ways, Copy result, and a table for 1 to 1,00,000 units.

Privacy & Processing

  • Mode: connected
  • Files Leave Browser: Selected data may be sent to a service or peer
  • Max Input Size: API dependent
  • Account Required: No
  • Data Stored Locally: The latest rates table and your last currency pair are saved in this browser so the page loads fast. Clear the site data to remove them.
  • Network Processing: Required for connected features

The tool downloads one daily table of US dollar rates from api.exchangerate-api.com. Your amounts and the currencies you pick are never sent; the maths happens in your browser.

Rules & Limitations

  • Rates are daily mid-market reference rates, not the rate your bank, card or money changer gives; they add a margin and fees.
  • Rates update once a day. The tool shows the date they are from.
  • It needs an internet connection to load rates. If they cannot load, it shows an error with Try again instead of guessing.
  • For decisions involving large amounts, confirm the rate with your bank or remittance service.

Currency Converter FAQ

How many rupees is 1 US dollar today?

Open the tool: it starts with 1 USD to INR at today's reference rate and shows the date of the rate. Banks and cards usually charge a little more than this rate.

Why is my bank's rate different?

This tool uses mid-market reference rates, the midpoint between buying and selling prices. Banks, card networks and money changers add a margin and sometimes a fee, so their rate is less favourable.

How often are the rates updated?

Once a day. The rates are saved in your browser and refreshed when they are more than six hours old, so the page works quickly and keeps working briefly offline.

Which currencies are supported?

All of the more than 160 currencies the rate service publishes, including INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, SAR, SGD, AUD, CAD, JPY and NPR. Type a code or a name to find one.

Is my amount sent anywhere?

No. The tool downloads one table of rates from exchangerate-api.com and does the maths in your browser. Your amounts and currency choices are not sent.
