About Digital Stopwatch & Lap Timer

An online stopwatch with laps. It shows time to the hundredth of a second, records each lap at the moment you click, marks the fastest and slowest lap, and lets you copy the laps or download them as a CSV file. Keyboard shortcuts make it quick to use, and a running stopwatch keeps going if you reload the page. It runs in your browser.

How to Use

1

Start timing

Click Start or press Space. Press Space again (or click Pause) to stop, and Resume to carry on.

2

Record laps

Click Lap or press L each time a lap or split is done. The table shows each lap time, the total and the difference from the previous lap.

3

Save the results

Click Copy to paste the laps into a sheet or message, or Download CSV for a spreadsheet. Reset (or R) clears the time and laps.

  • The screen shows hundredths of a second; the CSV file has milliseconds. Accuracy depends on when your click or key press reaches the browser.
  • The time and laps are saved in this browser, so a reload continues where you were. Another browser or device does not see them.

Digital Stopwatch & Lap Timer FAQ

How do I record a lap?

While the stopwatch runs, click Lap or press L. The lap is taken at the moment of the click, and the newest lap appears at the top of the table.

Does the stopwatch keep running if I switch tabs or reload?

Yes. It stores the start time rather than counting ticks, so it stays correct in other tabs, and the time and laps come back after a reload.

What is the difference between lap time and split time?

Lap time is how long one lap took. Split time is the total time from the start to the end of that lap, shown here in the Total column.

Can I export my lap times?

Yes. Click Download CSV to save stopwatch_laps.csv with lap times and totals in milliseconds, or Copy to paste them as a table.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The stopwatch runs in your browser and its data stays on this device.
