Text is searched in your browser and never uploaded.

Rules & Limitations

  • Phones: Indian mobiles (10 digits starting with 6 to 9, with or without +91 or 0), landlines with an STD code such as 080-2345-6789, 1800 toll-free numbers, and other countries' numbers written with + and the country code. The CSV adds each number in +91 (E.164) form.
  • Links need http://, https://, www. or a common ending such as .com, .in or .co.in. Punctuation that ends a sentence is left out.
  • GSTINs are checked against their check digit and flagged when it doesn't match. A PAN needs a valid fourth letter (P, C, H, F and so on), so placeholders such as ABCDE1234F are skipped.
  • Numbers keep their sign and Indian grouping such as 1,00,000; dotted sequences such as IP addresses and version numbers are skipped.
  • Pattern matching can miss unusual formats or pick up look-alikes, such as a 6-digit amount read as a PIN code, so check the results.

String & Link Extractor FAQ

How do I extract phone numbers from text?

Paste the text, choose Phones, then click Copy all or Download .csv. The same number written different ways, such as +91 98765 43210 and 9876543210, is listed once, and the CSV gives each in +91 form for importing into contacts.

How do I extract all email addresses from a document?

Copy the document's text, paste it here and choose Emails. Addresses that differ only in capital letters are merged, and image names such as logo@2x.png are not counted.

Can it check whether a GSTIN is valid?

It checks the format, the state code and the check digit (the 15th character), and marks a GSTIN whose check digit doesn't match. It doesn't look anything up on the GST portal, so a GSTIN that passes may still be cancelled.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. The matching runs in your browser and nothing is sent or saved, so it is safe for chat exports and customer lists.

What is the difference between a UPI ID and an email address?

Both use @, but a UPI ID ends in a bank handle without a dot, such as name@okhdfcbank or 9876543210@paytm, while an email ends in a domain such as gmail.com. This tool lists them separately.
