Fuel Cost Calculator FAQ

How do I calculate the fuel cost for a trip?

Divide the distance by your mileage to get the fuel needed, then multiply by the fuel price. A 300 km trip at 15 km/L needs 20 litres; at ₹100 a litre, that is ₹2,000.

How do I calculate the cost per km of my car?

Divide the fuel price by the mileage. Petrol at ₹100 a litre and 15 km/L costs about ₹6.67 per km. The calculator shows this as fuel cost per km.

How do I work out the charging cost of an electric car?

Choose Electric, enter the efficiency in km/kWh (or kWh per 100 km) and the price per kWh. At 7 km/kWh and ₹8 per kWh, a 140 km trip costs ₹160. Public fast chargers usually cost more per kWh than home charging.

What is the difference between km/L and L/100 km?

km/L is how far one litre takes you, and higher is better. L/100 km is how many litres you need for 100 km, and lower is better. 15 km/L is the same as 6.67 L/100 km.

Is my trip information sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded or saved.
