  • Phrases are counted within a sentence or clause and shown when they appear at least twice.
  • Languages written without spaces between words, such as Chinese, Japanese and Thai, are not split into words.
  • Words are not reduced to a root form, so loan and loans are counted separately. Reading time assumes 200 words a minute.

Keyword Density Checker FAQ

What is a good keyword density?

There is no ideal number, and Google does not use one. Write naturally; if the focus keyword makes up more than about 2–3% of the words, the text probably reads as stuffed.

How is keyword density calculated?

Density is the number of times a word or phrase appears, divided by the total number of words, times 100. A phrase found 5 times in 250 words has a density of 2%.

Does it work for Hindi text?

Yes. Hindi and other Indian languages written with spaces are split into whole words, including matras, and common Hindi words such as का, की and है are hidden while Hide common words is on.

What is the difference between this and a word counter?

A word counter totals words and characters. This tool also shows which words and phrases are used most and how often your focus keyword appears.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The analysis runs in your browser, so unpublished articles stay on your device.
