About Meeting Cost Calculator

See what a meeting costs in salary while it runs, or estimate it before it starts. Enter the number of attendees and their average annual CTC in lakh; the meter counts the cost in rupees as the minutes pass. You can add or remove attendees mid-meeting without losing the cost so far, and add an overhead multiplier for office and benefit costs. It runs in your browser.

How to Use

1

Set who is in the meeting

Enter the attendees and their average CTC a year in lakh. Adjust working hours a year (2,000 by default) and the overhead multiplier if you want.

2

Start the meter

Click "Start meeting" when it begins. The cost and time keep counting even if you switch to your video call; click Pause to stop.

3

Estimate a planned meeting

Enter a planned length in minutes to see what the meeting will cost before anyone joins.

Rules & Limitations

  • Hourly cost = attendees × (CTC × overhead ÷ working hours a year). It counts salary cost only, not the value of the work left undone.
  • Time comes from the clock, so a background tab still counts every second; the display catches up when you return.
  • The meter resets if you close or reload the page.

Meeting Cost Calculator FAQ

How do you calculate the cost of a meeting?

Multiply each person's hourly cost by the meeting length. Hourly cost is annual CTC ÷ working hours a year: ₹12 lakh ÷ 2,000 hours is ₹600 an hour, so six people for 30 minutes cost about ₹1,800.

Why 2,000 working hours a year?

It is roughly 8 hours a day for 250 working days. Change it if your team works more or fewer hours.

What is the overhead multiplier?

Employees cost more than their CTC once you add office space, equipment, software and benefits. A multiplier of 1.3 adds 30%; leave it at 1 to count salary only.

Does it keep counting if I switch tabs?

Yes. Elapsed time is measured from the clock rather than from timer ticks, so it stays correct while you are in Meet, Zoom or Teams.

Are salaries sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded or saved.
