About Quick Notes & To-Do

A simple to-do list with a notes pad next to it. Add tasks, tick them off, edit them, move them up or down and clear finished ones, while the notes save as you type. Everything is kept in this browser, it updates across open tabs, and you can download or import your list as a text or JSON file.

How to Use

Add tasks

Type a task and press Enter or click Add. Tick the box to mark it done; use the pencil to edit and the arrows to reorder.

Write notes

Type in the Notes box. It saves automatically in this browser, and Copy puts the text on your clipboard.

Back up or move your list

Click Download .txt or Download .json to keep a copy. Import adds tasks and notes from such a file, or from any text file with one task per line.

Rules & Limitations

Tasks and notes are stored only in this browser profile. Clearing site data or using a private window removes them.
There is no account or sync between devices; download a file to move your list.
Import adds to your list and never deletes anything. Files up to 2 MB.
Browsers allow about 5 MB of storage per site, which is plenty for text.

Where are my tasks saved?

In your browser's local storage on this device. They stay after you close the tab, but not if you clear site data or use a private window.

Can I use my to-do list on my phone and computer?

Not automatically, because nothing is stored online. Click Download .json on one device and Import the file on the other.

How do I edit or reorder a task?

Click the pencil next to a task, change the text and press Enter. Use the up and down arrows to move it; they show in the All view.

Can I import a list from a text file?

Yes. Click Import and pick a .txt file: each line becomes a task, and lines starting with [x] are marked done. Files made with Download .txt also bring back the notes.

Is my data private?

Yes. Nothing is uploaded; your tasks and notes never leave this browser unless you download them.
